Myself and my friend Chris (RaBBiZ) put in a set of copper spark plugs into my '91 300ZXTT this morning. The plugs were NGK ZFR7F-11 copper plugs, purchased from RaceSearch for $3.39 a plug. The plugs I took out were NGK PFRB6B-11B platnium, one step colder for the Twin Turbo. Those plugs were put in ohhh I'd say either last September or November. The main reason I replaced my platnium plugs with copper ones was because of the 60 shot of nitrous I'm running. According to many members on this board, if you're going to run copper plugs these are the ones to use. There was a post in Technical a few days ago about someone who blew chunks out of his valves by upping his nitrous shot size, and using platnium plugs. I called NOS tech support (the company) a week or two ago, and they said copper is the ONLY way to go when using nitrous. Platnium burns too hot, and I'd say that the blown valves from the post in Technical convinced me enough to swap. The new copper plugs were gapped to .035, the recommended gap size from both Greg Dupree and NOS tech support. That was taking into account my HKS Twin Power Ignition Amplifer, the 60 shot of nitrous, and 14psi of boost I'm running. The following pictures are a comparion of the size of my new copper plugs compared to the old platnium ones. Note how burnt my platnium ones are, and they can't be more than 7 months old! They were also gapped to .035. I'm still on my first 10lb. bottle of nitrous, so I guess the burnt tips are from those couple runs. Seems like a good time to replace them! Since my new plugs are copper, they will naturally have to be replaced way more often than platniums. I'm going to experiment with how often, my guess right now is to swap them out in 6 months or so. I'll check them out in 2 months, and replace if necessary. Chris and I also did a compression test today, just to make sure there was no damage from my nitrous runs with the platnium plugs. I'm quite satisifed with my numbers. Check them out: 5-160 6-155 3-155 4-153 1-160 2-155 Rob
